Robert McFadden’s solo performance The Edge of the World brought together a series of stories, images, theories, and events that documented an extended history of encounters with aliens across the Pre-Cambrian shield of North America. Through this material—taken from early Canadian history, contemporary speculations about life on other planets, and common experiences in the cultural community—McFadden argued that culture’s worst nightmare is itself.
