Description:

Robert Ashley's operatic works were screened as part of the Vancouver Videopoem Festival. 

The works were “The Bank Episode III” of Perfect Lives (1978-80), The Lessons (1981), and Atalanta Strategy (1984). 

Ashley discussed these works as a new kind of opera, especially designed and composed for television and related media, and his accomplishments and frustrations with the process so far. 

Presented by Edgewise Electrolit Centre and Pacific Cinematheque (now The Cinematheque).
