Description:

Stickeen Stikine was a multimedia performance by the improvisational theatre company Precipice Theatre Society, based on American naturalist John Muir’s adventures in Alaska and northern British Columbia. In 1880, Muir’s quest for glaciers eventually led him to the Stikine River in British Columbia, where he met up with a mongrel dog of the name Stickeen. By incorporating masks, music, and video, the cast of four performers and two musicians recreated the spirit of the river and the time.

Stickeen Stikine was first performed as a radio play at the Banff Centre in 1988, and adapted for stage.
