Concert by the Artsong Trio
Description:
Western Front presented the North American debut of the Artsong Trio, an ensemble composed of vocalist and singer Irène Aebi, harpsichordist Petia Kaufman, and clarinetist Carol Robinson. Their recital in the Grand Luxe Hall featured contemporary works by Christian Wolff and Giacinto Scelsi intermixed with Steve Lacy’s settings of texts by Herman Melville, Lao Tzu, Robert Filliou, and others.
The evening also featured the North American debut of works for solo harpsichord composed by Alexandr Raskatow and Sergei Pavlenko.
