Scrivener's Monthly: Moyra Davey Screening "Les Goddesses"

Nov 5, 2013
Field:

Screening

Location:

Grand Luxe Hall, Western Front

Time:

8:00 p.m.

Description:

Visiting Vancouver on the occasion of her solo exhibition Ornament and Reproach at Satellite Gallery, New York-based artist Moyra Davey screened her film Les Goddesses (2011) in the Grand Luxe Hall as part of Scrivener’s Monthly. The screening was followed by a conversation with Marian Penner Bancroft that opened into a question and answer period with the audience.

Scrivener’s Monthly was a series of public presentations that explored the space between material practices and spoken words. Set alongside exhibitions at Western Front, this experiment in “not publishing” involved readings, performances, and other articulations.

Presented in partnership with Presentation House Gallery and Emily Carr University of Art + Design.

Video documentation of this event is available upon request.
