As part of the Women in View festival, Vancouver-based vocal ensemble Zeellia presented a concert of Eastern European folk songs. Centered on two- and three-part harmonies, the group performed both a cappella and with accompaniment, incorporating accordion, violin, and drum.
The performers were Marusya Bociurkiw, Heather Buries, Beverly Dobrinsky, Christina Farmilo, Christina Jastrzembska, Mary Machibroda, Carmen Rosen, and Teresa Vandertuin.
Presented in partnership with Vancouver East Cultural Centre (now The Cultch), Station Street Arts Centre, WISE Hall, and the Firehall Arts Centre; with support from Canada Council.
