Wil Offermans and Junko Ueda performed a concert that fused satsuma-biwa, Buddhist Shōmyō singing, and the extended use of flute, piccolo alto, and bass flute. Their lyrics combined Japanese epic storytelling and found text from print media.
Presented as part of the du Maurier International Jazz Festival, as part of the mini series “Dial J for Japan,” showcasing contemporary Japanese musicians.
