New Forms Festival presented a series of talks, panels, workshops, and performances in the Grand Luxe Hall and EDAM Studio. Exploring the intersection of art, music, and politics the program centered female-identifying, queer, and non-binary practitioners of colour in media art and electronic music

Program:

Digital Strategies Marketing Strategies and Publicity, with Jelissa Classics, 12:30  – 1:30 p.m.

Keynote: Juliana Huxtable and Frankie Hutchinson in Conversation, 3:00 – 4:30 p.m.

Working towards safer spaces in electronic music culture, discussion with Cindy Li, Katayoon Yousefbigloo, Marisa Olson, and Stacey Forrester, moderated by Jen Sungshine, 3:00 – 4:30 p.m.

Shifting narratives in the electronic art and music industry: social change through curation and reclaiming space in the global underground, panel with Electric Indigo, Nazlie Najafi, Patti Schmidt, and Sammy Chien, moderated by Mutya Macatumpag, 5:00 – 6:30 p.m.

Live electronic gear demonstrations with Minimal Violence and Raica, 1:00 – 2:00 p.m.

Introduction to DJing, with Intersessions, 2:30 – 5:30 p.m.

Introduction to Modular Synthesis, with Felisha Ledesma, 6:00 – 7:00 p.m.
