Location:

Grand Luxe Hall, Western Front

Time:

Description:

As part of the du Maurier International Jazz Festival, multi-instrumentalist Amy Denio performed in dialogue with interactive computer graphics created by Don Ritter. Denio played electric, acoustic, and slide guitars; fretted and fretless bass; saxophones; percussion; keyboard; keytar; musette; and employed extended vocal techniques and loops. Ritter’s software system analyzed and responded electronically to Denio’s sounds with a suggestive collage of images and colours, reacting dynamically to pitch, velocity, and timbre.

Presented in partnership with Coastal Jazz.

Video and audio documentation are available upon request.
