Stan Douglas

Bio:

Stan Douglas is an artist based in Vancouver, Canada. Since the late 1980s, Douglas has examined the complex intersections of narrative, fact, and fiction, while simultaneously scrutinising the media he employs and how it shapes collective memory. His work in photography, film, video installation, television broadcasting, and theatre production often involves intricate restagings of historical moments of tension that connect local histories to broader social movements of struggle and utopian aspiration. Douglas is represented by Victoria Miro, London and David Zwirner, New York.
