The Steve Lacy Sextet was an improvising jazz ensemble formed in Paris, France. Led by American soprano saxophonist Steve Lacy, the ensemble also included vocalist Irene Aebi, pianist Bobby Few, drummer Oliver Johnson, soprano/alto saxophonist Steve Potts, and bassist Jean-Jacques Avenel (later John Betsch). The group was at times scaled up to a larger ensemble introducing french horn and tenor saxophone, or pared down to a quartet, trio, or two-saxophone duo.
