Zeena Parkins

Bio:

Zeena Parkins is an electroacoustic composer, improviser, and harpist based in New York, United States. Through the use of expanded techniques, object preparations, and electronic processing her practice focuses on redefining and pushing the harp’s physical limitations into new capacities. In her compositions, Parkins utilizes collections, recombination, historic proximities, geography, tactility, and movement. Sonic presence and personality is revealed in feedback, overtones, timbral shifts, gestural intervals, perception, and residues.
