Larissa Lai

Bio:

Larissa Lai is a writer and educator based in Calgary, Canada. Since the 1980s, Lai has been involved in cultural organizing, experimental poetry, and speculative fiction communities across Canada. Her writing practice spans poetry, prose, and criticism has explored themes of identity, language, history, and the intersections of race, gender, and sexuality in literature. Lai holds a Canada Research Chair at the University of Calgary where she directs the Insurgent Architects’ House for Creative Writing.
