Satisfied

1995
Field:

Performance

Location:

Grand Luxe Hall, Western Front

Description:

In Satisfied, Judy Radul performed a monologue with a pre-recorded spoken audio track on desire, appetite, accumulation, and time. In dialogue with the recording, Radul produced a dynamic vocal performance that shifted between choral unison and tight duet. At moments she spoke in sync with the track, while at others she completed its phrases, traded words one for one, or slipped between its sentences, using the recording as a rhythmic score.

Satisfied was performed as part of the Women in View festival.

Presented in partnership with Vancouver East Cultural Centre (now The Cultch), Station Street Arts Centre, WISE Hall, and the Firehall Arts Centre; with support from Canada Council.

Video documentation is available upon request.
