Concert by Shelley Hirsch and Veda Hille

May 7, 2010
Field:

Concert, Performance

Location:

Grand Luxe Hall, Western Front

Time:

8:00 p.m.

Description:

Presented as part of VOICE OVER mind Festival, vocalist Shelley Hirsch and singer-songwriter Veda Hille performed thirty-minute solo sets in the Grand Luxe Hall.

Embracing archetypal personas, Hirsch moved between song and spoken word to tell hallucinatory stories reflecting on her life experiences. Vocalizing between two microphones, Hirsch was accompanied by an instrumental backing track of scores by eccentric American composer Jerry Hunt and orchestral film soundtracks by Bernard Hermann.

Hille performed new songs on piano from her upcoming musical theatre projects Peter Panties, produced by Leaky Heave Circus; and do you what what I have got? a musical based on Craigslist ads created in collaboration with Bill Richardson.

Video documentation is available upon request.
