Simon Fraser University presented a month-long summer intensive titled Music of Two Worlds, in which thirty participants explored creative approaches to computer music and gamelan through focused workshops and ensemble practice. The computer music portion was facilitated by American composers George Lewis and David Rosenboom, and the gamelan portion was led by Pak Hardja Susilo from the University of Hawai’i and I Nyoman Wenten from the California Institute of the Arts.
The intensive concluded with a public performance showcasing the group’s work, as well as a concert by facilitators Lewis and Rosenboom.
