Perspectives on an Archive: Ghost Dialogues

Dec 3, 2008
Field:

Screening

Location:

Grand Luxe Hall, Western Front

Time:

7:00 – 9:00 p.m.

Description:

Ghost Dialogues was a screening of archival footage from Western Front's archive curated by cheyanne turions as part of the Perspectives on an Archive residency.

With the question of “how is the past accessed by what remains?”, Ghost Dialogues approached the archive as a storehouse of traces and reference points from which to construct incomplete and plural histories. Through dialogue and interview, the selected works reinterpret what is considered a ghost, and ask us about our relationship to the past. This presentation considered the resonating presence of multiple histories in media.
