During this thirty-minute talk, musician Lawfawndah and media scholar Laura U. Marks discussed the musical influences, creative decisions, collaborative processes, and visual identity of Lawfawndah’s debut full-length album Ancestor Boy (2019). A presentation of Lawfawndah’s song “Tourist” and a screening of her music video for “Daddy,” inspired discussion around Lawfawndah’s approach to live performance and styling. The talk concluded with a question and answer period.
