Description:
This concert activated three of Carole Itter’s large-scale assemblages, titled Rattles, as instruments. Made from found materials such as old chairs, spindles, shoe trees, and wooden jetsam, the “rattles” were used as sonorous objects and as projection surfaces. The evening featured performances by Al Neil (piano), Howard Broomfield (percussion/tapes), Lisle Ellis (bass), David Lee (bass), and Gregg Simpson (drums).
Western Front is a non-profit artist-run centre in Vancouver.
We acknowledge the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish), and səl̓ílwətaʔɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations as traditional owners of the land upon which Western Front stands.
