Description:
To conclude their residency at Western Front, Flavourcel created a maze in the Grand Luxe Hall, with short looping animation works and sculptural pieces installed throughout, as well as within Western Front’s upstairs bathroom. Over a five-month period, Flavourcel occupied the Grand Luxe Hall as their first collective studio space. Immortal Coil responded to their experience of working together in a shared space and was inspired by the nature of Western Front’s unique building. Due to COVID-19 gathering restrictions, audiences were invited to reserve a thirty-minute appointment to tour the installation.
Western Front is a non-profit artist-run centre in Vancouver.
We acknowledge the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish), and səl̓ílwətaʔɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations as traditional owners of the land upon which Western Front stands.
