The Stochastic Pibroch Synchronous Wayan Dinner (and Bazaar)

Description:

While in residence at Western Front, the Vancouver-based instrumental group Cymbali presented a multimedia performance titled The Stochastic Pibroch Synchronous Wayan Dinner (and Bazaar). 

The concert incorporated elements of traditional Indonesian shadow play, environmental soundscapes, algorithmic narratives recited by a bevy of storytellers, contemporary dance, and new music performed on a variety of instruments—including Balinese gendèrs, MIDI-controlled synthesizers, electric bass, saxophone, and highland pipes.
