Sonic Playground at MetamorFest

Description:

As part of Sonic Playground, Western Front presented an afternoon of workshops and performances at Mount Pleasant Neighbourhood House’s community street festival  MetamorFest. 

Programming included instrument building workshops with Richard Clements and George Rahi, a performance by Gamelan Bike Bike, and a soundwalk lead by Tyler Kinnear; alongside interactive sound-based installations by Lee Hutzulak, Frederick Brummer, and Josh Hite developed in collaboration with students from Burnaby North Secondary School.


Sonic Playground was a joint initiative of Western Front, Vancouver New Music, and NOW Orchestra that paired youth with professional artists to explore experimental practices in sound and music. 

Presented with support from SOCAN Foundation and the Government of Canada.

Western Front is a non-profit
artist-run centre in Vancouver.
