Description:

For this concert, Standing Wave premiered two new electroacoustic works by Michael Maguire and Serge Arcuri. The program continued with a series of solo performances by ensemble members, each presenting works for instrument and tape by British Columbian composers.  François Houle gave the Vancouver premiere of “A Work for Soprano Saxophone and Tape” by Sergio Barroso; Peggy Lee performed “Physics of Seduction. Invocation #3” (1992) by Paul Dolden; and Lauri Lyster performed a marimba work by John Celona. 

Presented as part of the concert series Standing Retro-Waves: The Sound of Mixed Media, in partnership with Vancouver Pro Musica.
