Sep 27 — 28, 2003
Field:

Talk

Location:

Western Front

Time:

12:00 – 6:00 p.m.

Description:

As part of the Scrambled_Bites residency, Western Front hosted a forum with the participating artists and the public over two days. There were artist presentations of their practices involving data collection and manipulation as well as discussion of various technologies like GPS, GPRS, FM transmission, and Max/MSP.

On the first day, Matt Smith and Sandra Wintner presented their work, with their project Artist Run Limousine available for demonstration. A presentation from Diana Burgoyne followed their talk.

The second day featured a talk by Ken Gregory, followed by a public group discussion with curator Peter Courtemanche that explored ideas to further develop the residency. An edited transcript is available in the Scrambled_Bites catalogue.

Video documentation is available upon request.
