Description:

Fake Jazz Festival was a five-day concert series celebrating underground experimental noise music. Curated by Anju Singh, Jeremy Van Wyck, and Bill Batt, the festival took place in the Grand Luxe Hall and at offsite venues Lick and La Casa Del Artista. Fake Jazz Festival also ran in tandem with Noise not Noise—Western Front’s two-day symposium exploring the changing role of noise in culture.

The second day of Fake Jazz took place in the Grand Luxe Hall. The concert began with performance by The Rita— who presented his latest work “Snorkel” while submerged in a wading pool—followed by a set by Scant Intone. The second half of the evening featured performances by Glaciers, Archipelago, and Rachael Wadham and Shane Krause.

Presented with support from the Government of Canada, SOCAN Foundation, CiTR Discorder, Long & McQuade, and Best Western Uptown Hotel.
