Bio:

Yas-Kaz is a composer and percussionist from Miyagi, Japan. After emerging from Japan’s avant-garde music scene, he moved to Indonesia in the 1970s to study Balinese gamelan. His work, inspired by the sounds of nature and human environments, played an influential role in the development of Japanese ambient and New Age music. He has also composed extensively for butoh performances, dance, theatre, film, and ceremonial events.
