Peter Brötzmann

Peter Brötzmann was a German jazz saxophonist and clarinetist, recognized as a central figure in European free jazz. Over the course of his career, he released more than fifty albums as a bandleader and contributed to the crossover of European free jazz with avant-rock, electronic music, and global folk traditions. As a visual artist, he worked primarily in watercolor and printmaking, and frequently designed his own album covers.
