John Atkin is a civic historian, writer, and heritage consultant based in Vancouver, Canada. Excelsior Handmade Books draws inspiration from his personal collection of antique sketchbooks and travel journals to design and craft sturdy utilitarian books from his studio in Strathcona. His handcrafted pieces are intended to be travelled with, tucked into a jacket, and scribbled in.
