Van Gogh TV was a Europe-wide collaboration of video artists and technicians exploring interactivity, networked communication, and live performance at the intersection of contemporary art, technology, and mass media. Founded at the Ponton European Media Art Lab in Hannover, Germany, the collective operated in a decentralized, experimental manner, producing live interactive broadcasts through television, satellite and cable networks, slowscan video, email, and fax. They also pioneered early experiments in creating interactive, computer-generated three-dimensional environments. Key members of Van Gogh TV included Karel Dudesek, Benjamin Heidersberger, Gerard Couty, and Mike Hentz.
