Gamelan Madu Sari
Description:
Gamelan Madu Sari ("the essence of honey") is the name of the ensemble founded in 1986 by members of the Vancouver Community Gamelan Society. The ensemble has performed and composed traditional and new music for gamelan, as well as traditional Javanese dance. The ensemble has had numerous members and collaborators over the years and have released recorded albums of original music.
