Tiziana La Melia

Bio:

Tiziana La Melia is an artist and poet born in Palermo, Sicily and was raised on an orchard on Sylix/Okanagan territories. In her writing and art practice, La Melia gleans the detritus of the everyday and transmutes it into material textures, and iterative shapes and symbols, which move through layers of diasporic time. They are based in Vancouver, Canada, and are a sessional instructor in painting and writing at Emily Carr University of Art + Design.
