Jana Sterbak is a Czech-born Canadian multidisciplinary artist based in Montréal, Canada and Paris, France. Working across sculpture, video, installation, and performance, her practice ruthlessly considers the body and the human condition with a sense of skepticism, irony, and dark humour. She has won numerous prizes, among them the Governor General’s Award in Visual and Media Arts, the Chalmers Arts Fellowships from the Ontario Arts Council, the Prix Ozias-Leduc from the Fondation Émile-Nelligan, and the John Guggenheim Memorial Foundation fellowship.
