Steve Durland is an American artist, writer, editor, and arts administrator. His visual arts practice includes performance ceramics, sculpture, installation, and digital imagery, while his writing encompasses essays, interviews, criticism, and social satire. He served as editor-in-chief of High Performance, the Los Angeles-based quarterly magazine focused on time-based art, which was later published through Art in the Public Interest, the nonprofit he co-founded with Linda Frye Burnham to support artists working in collaboration with their communities. Durland also taught studio courses on performance at the University of California, Irvine.
