Bio:

Michael Matthews is a composer and conductor based in Victoria, Canada. Drawing inspiration from nature and literature, Matthews’s contemporary concert music and electroacoustic compositions explore a world of paradoxical imagery and intricate, ever-shifting textures. His music, published by Universal Edition and the Canadian Music Centre, has been commissioned and performed by ensembles throughout Canada, the United States, Mexico, Europe, and Asia.
