Nell Tenhaaf is an electronic media artist and writer based in Trent Hills, Canada. Her work investigates the gender politics of biotechnology, artificial life, electronic media, and computer technologies. In her early practice, Tenhaaf experimented with the Telidon videotex protocol to create interactive graphics and text, offering public access to her databases through experimental telecommunications networks. Her work has long incorporated feminist perspectives on biotechnology and genetics. She is represented by Paul Petro Contemporary Art in Toronto.
