Bio:

Al Purdy was a Canadian free verse poet born in Trenton, Ontario. An Officer of the Order of Canada and two-time winner of the Governor General’s Award, Purdy’s work was rooted in working-class culture. Over his career, Purdy published thirty-nine books of poetry, a novel, two volumes of memoirs, and four books of correspondence, in addition to his posthumous works.
